Areas of Expertise
Roxanne Christ is a partner in the Los Angeles office of Latham & Watkins and is a member of the Corporate Department. Ms. Christ’s practice focuses on intellectual property and media transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions of intellectual property portfolios; commercial loans secured by copyrights, patents and trademarks; securitizations of receivables arising from copyrighted works; and licensing and strategic alliance agreements. Ms. Christ has represented companies in a variety of industries, including developers, publishers and operators of video games, online games, virtual worlds and social networking sites. She has extensive experience guiding clients through children’s online privacy issues; data collection, usage and sharing; user-generated content ownership, licensing and infringement matters; virtual currency; digital wallet and ecommerce matters; and the placement of and revenue sharing from in-game advertisements.
Ms. Christ was recently named to the Legal 500 US: Volume II - Intellectual Property, Media, Technology & Telecoms. Ms. Christ is Co-Chair of the Publications Subcommittee of the American Bar Association’s Special Committee on Computer Gaming and Virtual Worlds. Ms. Christ is also an adjunct professor of the Laws of Video Games and Virtual Worlds at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles.
